In order to ensure greater community participation in day-to-day police working and to redress grievances of people in a more effective manner, the Bathinda Police has established a Community Policing Resource Centre at Mini Secretariat, Bathinda. CPRC Bathinda was registered on 24.07.2003. It became operational on 01.11.2003. It has been established in the newly constructed building of Mini Secretariat, Bathinda which is at a distance of 250 meters from the Bus Stand and 3 Kilometer from the Railway Station. This centre serves various useful functions.

a. It forms a bridge between community, police, NGOs and other government departments.
b. It provides a single window system for grievance redressal.
c. It has set up verification counters for passport, civil and military verification, etc.
d. The CPRC has established community liaison groups in the form of Mohalla Committees in different areas to tackle crime.

Community Service-cum-Information Centre (Single window system) Community service-cum-information centre is a well furnished hall having computers . It also provides information on telephone numbers 2240680, 2217901 Ext. 230 from 9 AM to 5 PM and Ext.233 for 24 hours regarding national status verification, passport verification, Arms License verification, character verification, Civil / military verifications, police clearance certificates etc.

Counterwise details of services provided by Single Window System is as follows:-

i. NRI Counter:- It provides services in:-

a) Foreigner's Registration.
b) Visa Extension.
c) National Status Verification.
d) Intended Departure Certificate.
e) Police Clearance Certificate.

ii. Verification Counter:-

a) Passport Verification.
b) Character Verification.
c) Civil/Millitary Verification.
d) NOC for religious processions/functions.

iii. Vehicle Verification Counter:-

This counter provides services regarding stolen/recovery status and involvement in crime of any vehicle based upon the database of stolen vehicles provided by NCRB, Delhi, which contains information regarding more than 5 lac stolen vehicles.

iv. Stranger Verification Counter:-

This counter started working on 25.02.04. It keeps track of strangers who are residents of states other than Punjab, but who have come here for job / service purpose. The details regarding them, their physical appearance, present & permanent address along with their photographs is kept at this counter using specially designed software.
